Slivers

Life still goes on, even if I’m not writing about it and the past week has been full of tidbits that each would have made a great post.  I just couldn’t find the motivation to actually sit down and do it.  I’m bad…shame on me.  But these slices of life are just too good to ignore so here’s the abridged version:

Last week, long after I had put the boy to sleep and the husband had gone to bed, I was watching TV and dozed off on the couch.  I awoke to the sight of my husband, clad only in tighty-whiteys with the saggy back-end, trying to shove his size 10 feet into my much smaller sandals.  *blink*  Must be dreaming. As he shuffles off towards the front door, I’ve never been more glad that we live in the country and don’t have neighbors to see him as he goes to rummage for something in his truck.  *sighs*  Consider yourselves lucky I didn’t have a camera handy to capture the ensemble.

Over the long weekend, I’m (again) watching TV in the middle of the day, enjoying a nice lunch.  At least, I was enjoying my lunch until the advertisement for the show “Hoarders” comes on.  I don’t watch this show because I personally find it disgusting.  So I avoid it.  Or try to.  But then they go and air the grossest, nastiest parts of the show in ads on a channel that the show isn’t even broadcast on.  That just ain’t right.

With the boy and the husband gone to a tractor show, I had a really relaxing Labor Day.  So did Skipper.  He’s now laid claim to what was formerly “Daddy’s chair”.

When they came home from the show, they weren’t alone.  Yet again, we have a new addition to the family.  My son named her Cali.  Our little Halloween-cat has some pretty markings.
